Cheyenne Rey was elected to serve as Tribal Council Member at Large for the United Auburn Indian Community (UAIC) in December 2024.
As a Council Member at Large, Cheyenne is dedicated to serving her community with integrity and passion. She is focused on advancing the Tribe’s economic portfolio, supporting Tribal Elders, and building pathways to strengthen youth education and engagement.
As a Tribal leader, Cheyenne is committed to fostering unity while ensuring that the voices of all Tribal Members are heard and respected.
Prior to being elected to the UAIC Tribal Council, Cheyenne was appointed in 2023 to serve on the UAIC Enrollment Committee. She also successfully completed a six-year term as Chairperson of the Enrollment Committee from 2012 to 2018 and held a position as Chairperson of the Activities Committee from 2013 to 2014.
Cheyenne was born in Auburn, California and spent much of her childhood living on the Tribe’s historic reservation land with her mother and grandmother. Her earliest influences were those of UAIC Tribal Members who were working hard to restore the Tribe’s federal recognition and establish Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
Cheyenne’s humble beginnings taught her the value of resilience, determination, and gratitude. Today, Cheyenne is passionate about following in her ancestors’ footsteps while ensuring that the UAIC continues to prosper for future generations.
Cheyenne graduated from high school with honors and pursued her Nurse Assistance Degree from Kaplan College and Associates Business Degree from Cambridge College.
Cheyenne lives in Yuba City with her partner and six children. She is a devoted mother and enjoys event planning and all arts and crafts, particularly beading.
